I was married once and for a time, I was on dialysis every second day for 9 years in order to stay alive. One day after Feb 14th in 2010, she walks into the bedroom after givng me the silent treatment all day on valentines day, and said the marriage is over because she wants to travel the world and yet I couldn't because of my kidney failure. Now i have a working kidney and I've travelled and I'm working a great job and I just don't see anymore on how a woman can make my life better than I have acchieved on my own.
I'm glad you are healthy now, as that is the most important thing in life, but did you not pick up on the signs that she was like this before this happened? Surely there was red flags that you ignored. I am 34 and I am still married to the girl I have been with since highschool. I have noticed a lot of my male friends dumped girls who would have made great wives, and who really cared about my friends. I don't know your situation but maybe it is closer to that than you want to believe, and I am positive there is a good woman for you.

Honestly, in this day and age there’s nothing effeminate about nursing anymore. It’s very scientific, technologically advanced, procedure heavy and financially rewarding. As a nurse and former professor of nursing, I can tell you that within the profession, we just see nurses, not male nurses. It’s a tough job and most people couldn’t do it. It’s mentally and physically demanding. So next time you see a male that’s a nurse, see him as a nurse, no gender need be specified.

90% of the cases I have heard of, the person who brought it up was either already cheating or just wanted to cheat - whether married or just dating - they just wanted permission to get rid of the guilt, or to cover their tracks in the case of discovery and divorce.
In almost every 'working' case, the couple has been together for years, they've done some degen-stuff with each other and others, but usually together, these are the type of people that are massive degenerates, but still love each other and would never want to leave the other person. In the vast majority of cases however it's just one partner beating down the other until they give in, and then the relationship deteriorates as the other partner begins to lose interest and love for their partner over time. Might take the first time the 'OR' partner goes out, a week, a month, or even a year, but eventually the relationship ends and for some reason the 'ethical' cheater is always in tears and begging for forgiveness.
It's disgusting, and it never ends well. The only people that support it are cheaters, people who are in an OR who haven't been broken up with yet because their partner is waiting until the right time, or is trying to find a new partner before they basically 'swap' relationships, or miserable single people trying to convince a taken person to ruin their relationship so they can get laid.
People are jealous by nature, anyone who argues otherwise is trying to sell you something.

People still have a right to personal privacy if they wish to have it, partners can agree on not having those boundaries, but one cannot demand to bypass the other's, especially without a very good reason to be suspicious, the most they can do is breakup if they are not okay with it. Otherwise it's paranoia, and that's not good, trust is. How would you feel if your SO said they want you videotaped at all times with a camera on you because you've got nothing to hide? No difference in the logic (which has never been a good argument against privacy). Yet i'm sure it sounds less comfortable. "But it's not the same" it is, one can try to twist it, but it wouldn't be honest. Phones aren't the only way to secretely contact someone either, it'd be incredibly naive to think otherwise. If someone truly wants to cheat and hide it, they can.
There shouldn't be secrets in a relationship (even that notion is debatable), but that's not what having access to the other's phone is. It's control (not always a bad thing, even if it tends to be), or even distrust when frequently checking. It's also much healthier if you can trust your partner to show you "those messages" if you're that curious/insecure about them, without necessarily having access to the actual phone. Again, lots of ways to hide secrets, the phone access isn't what's going to change that, don't think people can be prevented from doing so. Parents can't even manage to do it with their children.

It's really hard to find someone especially in small towns where you grew up with most of the people. I tried leaving the area and all it got me was a 4 year relationship and being broke and borrowing money constantly. Now that I'm 4 years single back in my hometown I got a nice place with privacy and it's hard to want to even try when I'm out and about because I've been ridiculed and embarrassed far too many times by women and my past relationship, now that I'm making money I can finally save for me and buy the stuff 16 old me (I'm 29) always wanted.
